DESCRIPTION:The second CityZen Impact Workshop ‘Inclusive governance to foster Urban Farming. Dealing with land and space scarcity in cities’ will be held online on April 19 (9.45 am – 1.15 pm CET) and April 20 (9.50 am – 1 pm CET)\, 2021. Interested people outside of our CityZen project community are welcome to join\, register here. \nDay 1 will deal with bridging the gap between decision-makers and bottom-up demands in Urban Farming and have practical cases on inclusive governance and multi-stakeholder engagement. \nDay 2 deals with land and space scarcity in cities and how vertical hydroponics\, rooftop greenhouses and aquaponic technologies can boost efficiency in urban food production. \nWith guest speakers from Spain\, The Netherlands\, UK\, Portugal and Greece as well as from DG AGRI\, ERIAFF and MMFN networks. \nYou can find the detailed agenda and our external speakers for both days online here.

Would you like to know more about the relevance and technical feasibility of such a project? \nThrough this webinar\, experts are here to answer your questions. \nThe Institut de Formation Sectoriel du Bâtiment (IFSB)\, as project owner\, will present the different functionalities of the future largest urban greenhouse of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg currently under construction in Bettembourg. \nThe architectural firm STDM\, will show the different challenges of integrating the greenhouse as an architectural object. \nArcelor Mittal\, will present the preferred materials in a context of privileged CO2 performance. \nNey & Partners\, the stability design office\, will present the various constraints and points of attention. \nThe possibilities in terms of glass walls will be explained by the company AGC. \nFinally\, DEFORCHE\, the contractor of this future greenhouse\, will give us a comparison on the construction of classic greenhouses versus the construction of roofed greenhouses. \nThis will be followed by a questions and answers session with our experts. \nFor your information\, the presentations will be given in French and English.
